Hot Coffey Take: Week 5 Edition

Hot Coffey Take: Week 5 Edition

With week 4 behind us, it is time to look at our teams and see how we feel about them. Chances are if you are 0-4 or 1-3 you might want to start thinking about rebuilding if you aren’t already. If you are 4-0 or 3-1, I would start to look to see want would get you the championship.

Below I’m going to list a couple of players that, if you are contending, could be trade targets and help you reach your goal.

James White, Running Back, New England

James White has proven to be Tom Brady’s favorite target this year. I understand why some players are wary about him. Julian Edelman is returning, Josh Gordon is getting more and more snaps and well let’s face it, no one really understands what is going on in Belichick’s brain. White, however, has 32 receptions through 5 games to go along with 5 total scores and a modest 380 total yards. While defenses focus on stopping Gronkowski and the receiving group for the Patriots, White should keep getting the drop off passes and easy yards.

Robert Woods, Wide Receiver, LA Rams

Robert Woods and Jared Goff have played together for a couple of years now. Last year, He was a WR3 that finished with an average of just under 14 fantasy points per game. This year, he is averaging just over 19 fantasy points per game and has 34 targets through the first 4 weeks. As of right now, he is a high-end WR2 that should help your team, not just this year but for the next couple of years as well.

Tyler Boyd, Wide Receiver, Cincinnati

Boyd for me is a buy right now that could possibly be a sell later on this season. Boyd has been performing on another level right now score at least 20 points a contest from week 2 to week 4. Cincinnati doesn’t play another strong pass defense this year. That includes a streak of games where the play Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Tampa Bay and New Orleans (the 4 worst pass defenses) 4 weeks in a row. They have the Dolphins this week as well which aren’t much better. Look for Boyd to keep performing well this year and possibly beyond.

Dede Westbrook, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville

I have Westbrook here, I think he should be a buy whether you are rebuilding or competing. He is emerging as the receiver to own in Jacksonville as he has 21 receptions and 294 yards through 4 games. Opposing defenses will be looking to stop the run, so his targets should keep increasing. Jacksonville only plays 2 top 10 teams against the pass moving forward as well. Dede’s value right now could be lower than most on this list and worth trading for in the long run.

Sean Coffey

I started playing fantasy football when I was 15. After that first season, I started studying football year round and started ranking players on my own. From there, I found dynasty fantasy footabll in 2007 and developmental leagues in 2015. From there, I never looked back. To me, fantasy football is always in midseason!
